Currently, the SACP has only a limited number of recognized commands. It
is also a very simple protocol and might not be sufficient for future
types of SCADA-TEMS. Suggestions for improvement will include changing
the data format of the SACP messages. Currently, the SACP return messages
only return the device status and its reading. Sensor devices may need
a more complicated SACP return message. SACP control messages can also be
improved. The control message also have the limitation of the return
messages. The use of Extensible Markup Language (XML) can also aid in
increasing compatibility with other protocols.
